From the artist: This piece was inspired by a brush with death my sister experienced in 2024. She lives every day knowing there are far too few days left. I suppose growing up on a farm established this perspective, but watching our mother's slow decline turned it into a mad drive to fill her days with life, love, and work. She's a whirlwind, a flurry, a stampede. The original is in encaustic with alcohol ink.
This framed matte canvas brings a dreamy, vintage aura into a modern space. Vibrant, colorful tones wrap a skull in artful abstraction, balancing nostalgia with contemporary print clarity. The slim black frame and subtle texture of the coated canvas create a museum-like presence that anchors a gallery wall or becomes a quiet focal point above a dresser or reading nook. It invites slow moments — a cup of tea, a paused record, a thought that lingers — and complements interiors that favor layered patterns, cozy textiles, and curated antiques.
